Job description
We are hiring for a 3 to 6 month contract to permanent AS400 Consultant. This will be 40 hours a week and pay $65 per hour w2.

Day to Day -
Assist in the day to day operations of the administrative functions of the AS400
Ensure the AS400 is up and running with no issues, and investigate issues that may occur with regards to data and job queues, communication controllers, communication devices, communication lines, and user and operator system message queues (just to name a few).
Provide service to users and departments enabling the creation and decommission of user id and passwords, as well as all other functions deemed administrative on the AS400.
Assist with production promotion requests
Side projects -
Capture and document logic around specific programs that currently run outside of the PBD adjudication process.
Come up with ideas for the automation of day to day checklist items
Once automation points are agreed upon, create a program and accompanying documentation that will execute it.
Document and outline specific program logic
Assist in OS upgrades
Assist in applying PTFs
