LARPD is seeking a summer intern to support the Community Outreach Department. Applicants should have the equivalent of one year of college credits completed toward a degree. Candidates interested in learning about communications, content creation, and social media with a government agency will be given preference. Interested candidates should complete an application online. The intern will be responsible for key deliverables while learning about special districts and the Livermore community.

Community Outreach Communications Project Plan
The Community Outreach team is seeking a summer intern for a 10–12-week assignment. The goal of the internship is to gain valuable experience capturing and creating content, assisting throughout the district.
Key duties
Visit Summer Programs to Capture Video and Photo content
Draft Program Highlight and Promotional Social Posts
Edit Community Facing District-Wide Videos
Assist with District-Wide Communications including Email Newsletters, Website, and social media.
Key deliverables will be:
Create two to three 30 second videos highlighting LARPD’s impact on the community.
Update District Parks and Facilities Guide for Website
Capturing photo/video content from summer programs
What learning will occur for the intern?
Learn to effectively communicate the LARPD brand identity across various channels, including social media, website, and content creation, by maintaining consistency in voice, tone, and messaging.
Gain hands-on experience in managing social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, Instagram) by creating engaging content, scheduling posts, monitoring audience engagement, and analyzing performance metrics to optimize strategies.
Learn website management by assisting with content updates, uploading new information, ensuring website functionality, and implementing best practices to enhance online visibility and user experience.
Develop skills in content creation, including writing engaging copy, designing visuals, and creating multimedia content such as videos, graphics, and infographics to convey key messages and engage the target audience.
Gain proficiency in video editing software to assist in creating and editing promotional videos, event highlights, and educational content for various communication channels, while adhering to branding guidelines and storytelling principles.
Timing
June-August 9th. Interns may start and end later but need to be present for the core Sessions slated for the entire month of June, July and through August 9th.
Work hours will be Monday – Friday, 25-30 hours per week during the 12 weeks of employment. The pay rate will be $20 per hour. All interns will be required to successfully complete a Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and undergo a TB test as a condition of employment.
