Job description
Nippon Seiki is a world-class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural, and construction equipment. ("NSI"), a group company of Nippon Seiki, located in Troy, MI, is a tier one supplier of instrument clusters and head-up display units for FCA US, General Motors, BMW, Honda, Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Polaris, Arctic Cat and other OEM's.
In the automotive industry, analyze electronics engineering specifications and create detailed software design development plans. Coordinate activities and daily work assignments with onsite and global offshore HUD software design engineering team to meet milestones and to evaluate risk to deliverables. Lead HUD software functional specification analysis and the development of software architecture, module and unit design. Lead HUD software development, coding and debugging activities. Review and approve HUD software design documentation per the development process. Allocate HUD software design resources to programs and projects. Lead analysis of reported issues, ensuring timely communication of issue resolution progress. Provide field support to NSI’s Integration and Quality Assurance teams to identify root cause of issues. Support adoption of industry standards related initiatives regarding HUD software development activities. Monitor organizational development processes. Support the development of the software engineering quotation (effort, cost, schedule) for new business and change requests. Research and implement new tools and technologies to improve efficiencies of the software development processes. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent based on evaluation of academic credentials, training and/or experience) as well as twelve (12) months in job or job related experience to include, job duties listed above.
