Title: IoT Edge Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Sugar Land, TX 77478 (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Duration: Direct Hire

Job Description: The EdgeOS team is at the heart of the company's Edge Intelligence ecosystem, providing the infrastructure for a growing number of groups across the company to deliver the next generation of Kubernetes based applications to the edge. With emphasis on remote operations, automation, and working in challenging networking environments, we are leveraging technologies and workflows to extend cloud workflows to the edge. Our group works to evolve a variety of computer and networked devices at the edge, with interesting challenges in new hardware integration and deployment at scale. With a continual focus on automation and efficiency we are striving to have a major impact on revenue generation and operational efficiency. The core of the EdgeOS team is currently 6 people, each with different experiences and specialties. Looking forward to having another talented individual join the team!
Looking for experience and skills in:
- System automation tooling: Terraform, Salt, Ansible, or equivalent
- Linux administration or equivalent skill set
- Advanced knowledge of networking and network troubleshooting
- Solid knowledge of security best practices for devices and networks
- Experience with virtualization i.e., KVM libvirt, VMWare, Xen, LXD
- Automated management of computers or network equipment.
- Bash scripting
- Programming language, one of, or ideally both: Go and/or Python
- Great to have experience with Kubernetes. Must be interested in becoming an advanced Kubernetes user.
- Great to have experience with docker containers
- Great to have experience with secrets management
- Great to have experience with system hardening
- Comfortable working hands-on with computer and network equipment
- Experience working with sensors is a plus
Description of work:
- Working with systems at the far edge
- Troubleshoot issues, fix the root cause, automate recovery, automate notifications.
- Automate infrastructure deployment - infrastructure as code

- Help evolve the system hardware/software functionality to better meet business objectives
