Job description
Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager oversees all three US entities of this international manufacturer, located in the greater Charlotte, NC area. This position is responsible for all areas relating to accounting and financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This is a hands-on position that will be responsible for directing the accounting operations, monthly close cycle, internal controls, financial audits, and financial reporting, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”).
Main Tasks/Responsibilities
- Responsible for all financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, intercompany reconciliations, and analytical reports for various audiences
- Manages the accounts payables and accounts receivables
- Sales and Use tax reporting and filing
- Manages general ledger and journal entry postings, payroll and accruals
- Manages all banking transactions, banking approvals, cash management, cash flow, and signing checks.
- Closely involved in monthly closing
- Responsible for and main point of contact for financial audits and assists with information required by external financial auditors and tax professionals
- Work with German HQ on various financial related matters
- Responsible for sending month end financial KPI´s to the HQ
- Involved in strategic planning for the company together with the Senior Management
- Gathering and analyzing of production key figures
- Supporting commercial planning, budgeting, and forecasting in production environment
Requirements
- Accounting experience in manufacturing industry preferred
- Accounting experience of min 8 years
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA), preferred
- Experience in SAP FI and CO (MM and PP is an advantage)
- US GAAP
- Degree in Accounting
- Experienced in MS Office
- Must have a hands-on mindset, capable of operating in a fast-paced environment, able to manage multiple projects, be self-motivated and detail oriented
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of options in various situations
