Team:

The Vehicle Manufacturing TPS team will play a crucial role in the manufacturability of our aerospace vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. This Senior TPS Technician will play a crucial role in helping set up our work center, develop our processes, and support TPS production for our Terran R vehicle. This position requires the candidate to be able to learn Relativity Space’s process requirements, work side by side with engineering, and communicate well with all key stakeholders. 

What you’ll do:  

• Collaborate with engineering teams on building the 1st Terran R TPS assemblies 
• Help establish TPS process requirements and implement process improvements 
• Train other technicians on how to install TPS per Relativity Space standards 
• Perform adhesive bonding operations per Relativity Space standards 
• Install TPS assemblies using calibrated tools 
• Perform in-process quality checks and measurements 
• Ensure 5S principles are maintained in the work center and follow clean as you go practices 

What you need to know:  

• High school diploma or equivalency certification 
• 5+ years of aerospace mechanical experience or related field 
• 3+ years working on TPS bonding or manufacturing 
• Proficient in bond prep and bonding processes with RTVs and other adhesives 
• Experience installing flight hardware 
• Proficient in using calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, multimeters, and precision inspection equipment 
• Ability to lift 25 pounds 
• Ability to work at heights 
• Strong attention to detail and concern for product quality 
• Strong communication skills 
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment 

Nice to haves but not required:

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office 
• Proficiency of relevant aerospace industry standards and specifications 
• Experience with paint prep and paint operations 
• Experience with precision drilling 
• Experience with avionics hardware 
• Ability to translate blueprints to functional requirements
