Nashville General Hospital is hiring an Infection Preventionist as a Full-Time job in Nashville, Tennessee. Shift: Day shift This position is primarily responsible for coordinating and directing the functions of Infection Control within the hospital; surveillance, investigation, reporting and education. The Infection Preventionist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary provide care appropriate to the age of patients assigned.
As an Infection Preventionist, you will : - Actively participates in development of Infection Control policies, procedures and initiatives
- Maintains strategies and action plan for isolating, preventing and minimizing the spread of infectious diseases
- Implements and maintains processes consistent with evidence based practices to reduce incidence of healthcare acquired infections
- Collects and analyzes data on the incidence of HAIs and the success or failure of the various prevention strategies
- Serves as liaison/consultant for the hospital, community and other agencies regarding infection control practices/issues
- Develops and implements action plans for individual cases, issues or variant trends
- Effectively manages all reportable infections to TN Department of Health, including PH-1600 form and clinical follow-up of signs and symptoms
Required Skills & Qualifications: - 2 years of experience in the healthcare/medical field - clinical nurse specialist experience required
- BLS Required
