Responsibilities
Provides individualized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) primarily to hospital patients as an engaged member of the multidisciplinary team. Works collaboratively with colleagues throughout the enterprise to develop MNT practice guidelines and/or protocols, curriculum and nutrition education materials. Precepts dietetic interns; mentors and trains new staff. Works collaboratively with providers and other allied health care staff to develop and deliver programs and services that promote both therapeutic and wellness initiatives. Researches best practice to ensure effective interventions and measures outcomes of interventions. Demonstrates effective public speaking/presentation skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field. Completion of an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited internship or approved training program. Advanced degree in nutrition or related field and/or additional nutrition-related specialty certifications are preferred. Commission on Dietetic Registration credential (must be registered within 3 months of hire). Certified Dietitian in the State of Wisconsin (must be certified within 3 months of hire).
