About the Position The Customer Service Representative (CSR) will be the first line of contact for CalOptima Health's members and providers. The incumbent will assist members and providers with questions and/or complaints related to the Medi-Cal programs for Orange County. The incumbent will provide information regarding eligibility, enrollment, benefits and services to CalOptima Health's eligible members and providers. Duties and Responsibilities:

Experience & Education:
  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • 6 months of experience in a customer/member service or call center capacity required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above is also qualifying.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 months of Medi-Cal/Medicaid or health services experience.
  • Typing speed of 35 words per minute (WPM).

Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee may be required to move about the organization. Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time, as well as work at the computer for long periods. Employee is required to use hands and fingers, especially for typing on the computer and using the mouse. Must also be able to reach with hands and arms and must occasionally lift office supply boxes or laptop, up to 25 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate, particularly for regular phone use, in meetings, face-to-face interaction and while presenting. Work Environment: Moderate noise levels due to call center operations. Frequent interruptions are common. Office temperatures are controlled and comfortable.
