Who You Are and What You’ll Do:  

You are passionate about life sciences and making a difference to cancer patients, their families, and healthcare providers.You will be responsible for coordinating with multiple departments, stakeholders, and vendors to turn clinical samples into data in support of our clinical programs. Candidate will drive efforts to ensure sample collections, identify and resolve discrepancies, and operationalize shipments in accordance with study directives. Early areas of success will be developing rapport and taking ownership of external vendor management and coordinating site support and sample collections. 

Job Responsibilities:  

• Execute, track and document sample management activities as patient samples are collected.
• Analyze clinical sample inventories to detect missing or unsuitable sample collections and update performance metrics to team.
• Organize sample shipments and destructions. Independently use collaborative project management tools to track many complex work streams in parallel.
• Collaboratively monitor and analyze clinical sample inventory data to identify, investigate, and reconcile sample data discrepancies.
• Lead sponsor efforts to issue and track queries for missing or replacement samples.
• Critically participate in continuous review of sample collection related systems, documents, and processes, and suggest and/or implement improvements.
• Liaise Translational Medicine to develop and execute biomarker analysis plans.
• Contribute to a positive and motivating work environment that encourages mutual respect, innovation, and accountability at all levels.
• Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-based environment and work independently when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences with 1+ years clinical operations, translational science, biomarker research, or related work supporting such teams or efforts (e.g. Data Management, Clinical Research Coordinator, etc.)
• Expertise in Excel, with proven ability to review and compare data sets, and present results.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Professional Qualifications:  

• Working knowledge of sample collection workflow in clinical trials
• Experience working with CROs and laboratory vendors
• Experience with clinical databases, LIMS or sample databases preferred
• Experience working with LabMatrix and/or Tableau preferred
• Experience managing biosample collection in clinical trials, including sample tracking, sample logistics, and query tracking preferred

• The expected salary range for this role based on the primary location for this position in California starts at $46.00 per hour. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
