The Pharmacist at Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health and all its subsidiaries ("Kolmac" or the "Company" is responsible the maintenance of a Controlled Substance Inventory as well as the care of patients diagnosed with substance use disorders and involved initiating medical therapy and ongoing monitoring for ongoing efficacy, and safety.
- This will early 2024 start
- Reviews, compounds, prepares and/or oversees the compounding, preparation and dispensing of pharmaceuticals to patients or medical practitioners; makes decisions regarding generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals.
- Consults with patients and/or medical practitioners on drug indications/contraindications, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects; provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate.
- Oversees the acquisition and disbursement of drugs and medications to various offices, clinics, and other sites.
- Provides education, guidance and training to students, pharmacy interns, and or trainees during course of work and monitors performance.
- Establishes and maintains methods and manner of storage and recordkeeping systems to provide for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
- May take patient's histories as required; makes initial clinical assessments and refers patients to appropriate clinicians.
- Performs routine quality control testing of equipment, environment and record keeping as required by federal, state and local regulations.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must Haves:
- Pharm D
- Unrestricted Pharmacist License in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- No history of drug or alcohol misuse for a period of 3 years before employment
- At least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
- Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
- Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
- Pluses:
- Prior experience in Behavioral Health including MOUD and Substance Use Disorders
