The Senior Manager of Packaging, Design, and Branding will be responsible for leading and developing a team, as well as implementing artwork in the development of packaging, design, and branding style-guides and Final Mechanical Artwork (FMA). This role will have a specific focus on Disney's vertical business, encompassing all Disney parks and Disney Stores. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving innovation, inspiring creativity, and ensuring the production of unique and high-quality artwork. Reporting to the Director of Packaging and Design, this position presents an exciting opportunity to make an important contribution to the Disney brand.
Develop packaging, design, and branding style-guides and final mechanical art in support of multiple categories and divisions
Lead and supervise a team while also contributing individually to the execution of packaging, design, and branding across all Disney properties and franchises
Generate ideas for franchise expansion through packaging, design, and branding
Develop art styles and new techniques that align with marketplace trends
Provide new ideas for packaging, design, and branding and actively participate in brainstorming sessions
Advocate for sustainability initiatives to position The Walt Disney Company as a leader in reducing packaging waste
Ensure excellence in packaging, design, and branding by maintaining artistic and creative direction locally and globally
Stay informed about new trends and innovations in packaging, design, and branding
Collaborate with franchises, licensees, internal teams, and content partners on new development and business opportunities
Demonstrate inventive and creative thinking
Present creative concepts in both formal and informal settings
Showcase ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness
Work closely with artists to create elevated and relevant art that reflects trends, consumer insights, studio initiatives, and franchise focus
Collaborate with executive creative partners in Disney Parks, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel, Lucas, Burton, Muppets, Disney Channel, Disney+, 20th Century Fox, Yellow Shoes, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Walt Disney Entertainment
At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including experience in team leadership
Extensive knowledge of graphic design, packaging, and branding
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present and sell creative ideas in both formal and informal settings
Strong traditional design, drawing, and concepting skills
Strong negotiation skills
Strategic vision for overall business and category
Understanding of how graphic design and branding translate into packaging.
Familiarity with working on and implementing artwork in style guides for product and packaging, as well as Final Mechanical Art (FMA)
Awareness of marketplace trends
High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Art and Design

The hiring range for this position in California is $120,100 to $161,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job tags
