Role: Snowflake DBA
Year Of Experience : 7+ years.
Location: Overland Park, KS. (Onsite from day 1 and all 5 days in a week)
Job Description:
- Snowflake Environment Management: Manage and maintain the Snowflake environment, including provisioning resources, configuring databases, and monitoring performance to ensure optimal functionality.
- Performance Optimization: Implement strategies to optimize the performance of Snowflake databases, including query tuning, indexing, and data partitioning.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security best practices within the Snowflake environment, including user access control, data encryption, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor resource utilization and plan for capacity expansion to accommodate future growth and workload demands.
- Cost Management: Identify opportunities for cost optimization within the Snowflake environment, such as optimizing resource utilization, implementing auto-scaling policies, and leveraging cost-effective storage options.
- Team Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to junior members of the team, helping them develop their skills and grow in their roles as Snowflake administrators.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, developers, and business analysts, to understand their requirements and ensure the Snowflake environment meets their needs.
- Documentation and Best Practices: Document configuration, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices for managing Snowflake databases, ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity within the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in Snowflake technology and data management best practices, and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Snowflake environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
