The Novel Interventions in Children's Healthcare (NICH) Program at OHSU is currently hiring for the position of Interventionist in Eugene, Oregon. This position is supported by Women's and Children's Services at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland, Oregon. In-state travel will be required. The position is a good fit for individuals who enjoy a blend of direct service and system-level intervention, and have experience and interest in working with at-risk youth or youth with chronic/complex medical conditions. Our work centers around health equity and is a good fit for individuals who are passionate about serving underserved populations and promoting health equity.
- The NICH program provides services to children and adolescents with medical complexity (ex: type 1 diabetes, cystic fibrosis, cancer, etc.) and psychosocial
vulnerability (ex: housing and food insecurity, child welfare involvement, etc.). - NICH is designed to address the triple aim of healthcare reform (reduce costs, improve care, and improve health) by providing intensive inpatient and outpatient support to youth and their families with the aim of improving health management in the context of the youth's daily life.
- NICH services focus primarily on youth covered by Medicaid.
- Duties include conducting home visits, attending medical appointments (virtually or in-person), and providing on-call support to patients and their families.
- The purpose of this position is to serve as an Interventionist to families eligible for the NICH program. Interventionists provide services including:
- Strategic family and systems-level interventions
- Health systems integration and patient needs alignment, and
- Resource access for family and patient optimization
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
- 1 year as an Interventionist 1 at OHSU
- OR Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years relevant experience
- OR Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Valid Driver’s license is required
- Please note: Consideration will be given for significant life experience that directly enhances the individual’s ability to perform this job. Additionally, retail or hospitality customer service roles will be credited at 50% towards relevant experience.
Salary Range: $74,605.96 - $112,975.98 per year
