The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is recruiting for two Full-Time faculty member(s) in the Professor of Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant or Associate rank. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service.
This recruitment is conducted at the assistant/associate rank. The resulting hire will be at the assistant/associate rank, regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.

The position will be primarily dedicated to providing outstanding general gastroenterology care and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. The final candidate will be expected to provide gastroenterology consultation and endoscopy services at ambulatory sites located in the greater Sacramento region and share in call at the UC Davis Medical Center. Educational responsibilities will include supervision of consultations and procedures by fellows, residents, and medical students as well as providing lectures to various audiences.
The GI Division currently includes 19 faculty and 3 nurse practitioners, who provide services at 5 clinics and 4 ambulatory endoscopy units, with ongoing expansion. Strengths of the division include robust programs in motility, IBD, and hepatology with strategically planned growth in advanced endoscopy and a new liver transplant program Clinical research within the division is supported by the GI Clinical Trial Unit which includes 8 research coordinators and staff supporting over 50 studies. The division has a long-standing history of providing outstanding patient care and medical education focused on the training of 9 GI Fellows and 1 Advances Endoscopy Fellow.
