**Position summary:
**
The Assistant Maintenance Manager works cooperatively with but under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to direct and to manage the process and people that are responsible for routine maintenance, turn-around maintenance, and long term reliability improvements at the Kuraray Bayport plant to maintain the joint site goal of safe, stable, and reliable operation
**Responsibilities:
**
Work safely by following all KAI Policies, Procedures, and Leadership expectations while improving the same when and where appropriate.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, company and departmental safety, health and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
Provide technical and management leadership to develop, maintain, and improve maintenance and various other management systems.
Provide leadership to investigate, troubleshoot, and eliminate various reliability issues within the plant.
Manage the contract maintenance group nested within the facility as well as those onsite periodic as needed.
Develop, monitor, and control the annual budget for the department.
Develop, monitor, and control the maintenance department balanced scorecard and performance goals within the department.
Provide direct oversight of routine maintenance and turn-around execution.
Provide oversight of expense and capital expenditures and effectively assign within the routine maintenance, turn-around maintenance, and capital budgets while seeking approval for additional capital funding where appropriate.
Complete other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
**Minimum Qualifications:
**
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or B.S. in a technology-based degree (i.e. Mechanical or Industrial Technology)
Minimum 8 years of maintenance experience in a multi-discipline (i.e. fixed, rotating, instrumentation, and electrical equipment) working Chemical Plant or Refinery environment.
Minimum 3 years of experience in routine maintenance planning and turnaround planning utilizing SAP and scheduling tool(s), preferably Prometheus or Primavera
Minimum 5 years of experience directly involved in the development of the routine maintenance and turn-around maintenance annual budget in a Chemical Plant or Refinery environment coupled with the oversight, tracking, control, and status reporting of the same.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the direct and indirect supervision of maintenance personnel in a chemical plant or refinery environment.
Must possess a working knowledge and experience with various industry standards and government regulations pertinent to the chemical plant and refinery environment including OSHA, API, ANSI, NFPA, ASME and various other RAGAGEP (i.e. Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices)
