Position Summary/Position

 

The Manager, UX Design is an experienced UX Design professional skilled in all aspects of the UX design lifecycle from strategy and user research through interaction design and usability testing. 

The Manager, UX Design will interact with various stakeholders to understand product and software application requirements and develop UX Strategy and UX Design and will be responsible for researching user requirements, building user journeys. designing experiences, maintaining consistency across applications, coordinating with varoous business and technology teams to ensure timely delivery of UX artifacts.

The Manager, UX Design will have a strong demonstrated knowledge in the User-Centered Design process, UX Research and UX Design techniques with the ability to understand and critique designs and a working knowledge of front-end development frameworks. The Manager, UX Design will have experience building complex applications across multiple channels like web, mobile and desktop and will perform UX Analysis in the following areas: document personas, user journeys, task analysis, UX process implementation, product design reviews, product experience design, formative user testing. 

The Manager, UX Design will manage and facilitate design thinking workshops, presenting designs to senior leadership and influencing a culture of design leadership within IEHP.

The Manager UX Design will work with the Senior Director, Head of Digital Experience in developing a digital experience team, strategy, developing of a culture of UX advocacy and bringing a UX design and user-journey mindset to IEHP.

Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

 

1. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the User centered design process and able to apply and execute the design process with a goal to create sophisticated experiences across various design channels.
2. Understand organization and user needs and devise Digital experience strategies in the pursuit of enhancing user experience. 
3. Take a journey-based view in terms of understanding user journeys and aligning the organization and current and future experiences on digital channels oriented towards evolving user journeys
4. Lead a team of UX Designers and Visual Designers and guide and mentor them from a skills, knowledge and career path perspective.
5. Collaborate with the Sr. Director – Head of Digital Experience in creating a culture of UX advocacy within IEHP.
6. Identify user requirements by researching and analyzing user needs, understanding business requirements, stakeholder objectives and aligning with technology, implementation strategy.
7. Manage and guide user research activities to understand user needs. 
8. Strong hands-on UX Design practitioner with the ability to design and build industry-standard UX Design artifacts like personas, user journeys, wireframes, and other UX deliverables.
9. Review and present UX deliverables to stakeholders and facilitate feedback discussions. 
10. Help with creating and maintaining the IEHP Design system.
11. Manage and guide visual designers and developers with their projects. Provide the understanding of technology execution models (e.g. Agile, waterfall) as it applies to the UX Design process. 
12. Hire, train, and manage support staff, while monitoring and evaluating outcomes and conduct performance reviews of each Team Member within IEHP guidelines.

Experience Qualifications

 

Six (6) or more years of experience designing software applications (web, desktop or mobile) by following a user-centered-design (UCD) process. Three (3) or more years of leadership experience required.

Education Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required.

In lieu of the required degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of additional relevant work experience is required for this position. This experience is in addition to the minimum years listed in the Experience Requirements above.

Knowledge Requirement

 

- UX Design professional with a strong knowledge of UX design methodologies and activities such as, research, interaction design using the latest tools like Sketch and Figma.
- Focused experience with:
o Good knowledge of responsibe design, accessibility standards, design languages and design systems. 
o Design effort estimation and reporting progress.
o Envisioning and creating experiences across various channels
o Strong understanding of UX, Customer Experience and Digital Strategy and able to drive strategic initiatives like digital transformation, UX roadmaps, process definitions & enhancements, product conceptualization & solutioning (web, mobile and multichannel)
o Experience working with design and brand agencies and ensuring target design outcomes
o Proven experience bringing in “outside-in” perspectives and forward-looking trends to enable scalable experiences for IEHP

- Well versed with design methodologies including ability to get hands-on to be able to lead and contribute in areas like: (Suggest to move to Skills)

- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members, stakeholders and leadership in presenting information.
- Time management and result oriented skills to provide on-time delivery in aggressive timelines and to prioritize requirements and deliver a quality product while resolving technical issues and exploring alternate designs with teams.
- Team player skills with participation as as a team member and fosters teamwork by inter-group coordination within the modules of the project.

Working Conditions

 

Position is eligible for Hybrid work location upon completing the necessary steps and receiving HR approval. All IEHP positions approved for telecommute or hybrid work locations may periodically be required to report to IEHP’s main campus for mandatory in-person meetings or for other business needs as determined by IEHP leadership.

A reasonable salary expectation is between $134,804.80 and $171,870.40, based upon experience and internal equity.
