Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Austin, TX
Salary: $140-155k/year

What You Will Be Doing

-Perform detailed electrical design and development of embedded control systems in support of Actuator Systems, Turbo Generators, Power Generation/Conversion/Distribution, Micro-Thrust Turbines
-Support proposal efforts in a fast-paced aerospace environment: Assess customer system-level requirements, Develop derived requirements, Produce requirements compliance matrix, Generate engineering models of proposed designs with substantiating analysis balancing rigor and speed, Contribute to estimating recurring and non-recurring costs, Contribute to the development of project schedules
-Develop detailed system performance models using MATLAB/SIMULINK (or equivalent)
-Allocate system requirements to components and subsystems
-Design and develop electronic hardware cradle to grave, including component selection, schematic capture, simulation, and PCB/A layout: Motor control (BLDC, FOC) using DSP/FPGA technology, Power electronics for motor control, active rectification, DC-DC conversion, and distribution, Integration of various sensors used in closed-loop control systems (resolver, VDT, pressure, current, HED)
- Assist in designing and developing firmware and software to support the systems/technologies mentioned above
- Perform validation and verification of product requirements
- Prepare documentation in support of customer and internal deliverables (reports, presentations)

What You Need for this Position

Experience Designing & Developing:
- Motor controls and electromechanical control systems;
- Power conditioning and distribution systems (20+kW);
- Systems with common aerospace communication interfaces (RS-485/RS-422, CAN, etc.);
- Real-time systems.

Experience with:
- Navigating firmware in embedded electronic systems;
- Failure investigation and formal RCCA activities;
- Safety and reliability assessment (MTBF/FTA, etc.);
- Aerospace configuration management and control.
- BONUS EXPERIENCE: Prior experience working in an aerospace quality control (AS9100) and manufacturing environment
