Job description
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for a variety of job duties revolving around the efficient operation of the Store Support Center (SSC). This will include preventative maintenance with the HVAC systems, performing general repair and maintenance, and contacting and supporting outside vendors. This position will also assist in maintaining the grounds; i.e. grass mowing, snow shoveling and salting; installing furniture; setting up meeting rooms and any other facility related tasks.
Essential Job Functions The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities w ith or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Complete regular site evaluations to identify and correct facility deficiencies.
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs to maintain the facilities and equipment.
- Perform regular tests to the systems including fire systems, emergency lights system generator, UPS systems, etc.
- Performs general repair and maintenance work as directed by the Facilities Supervisor.
- Places work orders as necessary for escalated repair needs on items we are unable to repair.
- Serve as a liaison with outside vendors who maintain our facility.
- Assist in maintaining and operating air handlers, heating and cooling equipment, boilers, plumbing, fountains, ponds, irrigation equipment, fire systems, etc.
- Operate and maintain lawn tractors, trimming equipment, snow equipment, and various hand and lawn tools.
- Provide basic electric and plumbing maintenance.
- Assist with cleaning and setting up and recovery of conference rooms and other facilities for seminars and/or meetings.
- Coordinates the maintaining of grounds including reaching out to vendors as necessary for service and assisting to maintain safety between vendor visits.
- Assist with the removal of trash and recycling from facilities.
- Install and move work areas and furniture.
- Complete various errands which includes purchasing materials to complete jobs.
- Travel between Fleet Farm properties as needed.
- Assist the SSC Facilities Department on store related facility operations
Education/Experience:
- Associates degree in a relatable field or equivalent years of experience required
- 2+ years of experience scheduling and coordinating 3rd party vendors/contractors
- 1-year experience/knowledge of facility industry standards and building codes
- 1-year experience with building control systems, and mechanical systems
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communicating skills
- Construction knowledge highly desired but not required
