As an engineer on our team, you’ll work with Peraton on the RS SE&I program with the U.S. Space Force to develop and rapidly deploy the next generation of resilient Missile Warning (MW), Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (TISR), and Environmental Monitoring (EM) capabilities to deter attacks and provide critical information to our warfighters to defeat our enemies in battle. The Journeyman Technical Baseline Manager will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.
- Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
- Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
- Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements.
- Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development.
- Designs interfaces and brings system elements together, so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
- Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.
- Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
- Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements.
- Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
- Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
- Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have an active/current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, or equivalent technical discipline with five (5+) - seven (7) years of relevant experience ; Master's degree and three (3+) - five (5) years of relevant experience; PhD and no years - two (2) years of relevant experience; High-school Diploma/GED and 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a completed degree
- Minimum of five (5+) years of experience working with technical baselines and conducting System Integration activities on space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system) Major Defense Acquisition Programs
- Experience supporting configuration management (CM) activities on large, complex programs and projects
- Experience developing, documenting, and executing a Lean-Agile CM process to manage the technical baseline at all integration levels
- Experience performing a Technical Baseline Assessment from a review of the Requirement Verification Ledger (RVL), Requirements Verification Plans (RVPs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Ability to develop and maintain a Government repository of all CM-related items from all stakeholders, that will be available across the Remote Sensing Capability Areas.
- Ability to create and configuration manage an As-Is and To-Be Sustainment technical baseline which captures the Functional, Allocated, and Product baselines across the sustainment portfolio
- Ability to review the technical baseline maturity against IEEE-15288.2 standards and identify alignment risks
- Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals
Desired Qualifications:
- A current TS/SCI security clearance
- Master’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline and three (3+) - five (5) years of relevant experience
- Minimum of five (5+) - seven (7) years of experience working with technical baselines and conducting System Integration activities on space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system) Major Defense Acquisition Programs
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP)
- Configuration Management Training Foundation (CMTF) CICM Certification
- Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
- Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space-based remote sensing systems
- Experience with using Model-Based Systems Engineering approach to manage system definitions and technical baselines
- Experience working with large amounts of data
- Experience utilizing metrics to improve processes and ensure consistency and standardization across the organization
- Experience with planning and executing program reviews throughout the life-cycle of the system
