Job description

HemaSource is seeking an Accounting Manager responsible for day-to-day accounting and finance responsibilities and will be primarily responsible for tax compliance, facility accounting, and treasury functions. Along with the Controller this role reports to, the Accounting Manager will spearhead accounting tasks, treasury management, accounting of our Europe-based business, and other special projects. This role will have no direct reports, subject to change according to the needs within the accounting Team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong understanding of daily accounting processes and company ERP.
• Oversee and manage day-to-day sales tax, compliance, lease, and treasury activities.
• Analyze current and past trends in leading indicators to gain a detailed understanding of variances and baseline performance.
• Identify gaps, resolve, and monitor internal controls for accounting functions including, but not limited to, treasury, assets, leases, and sales tax.
• Create, monitor, and post accruals and journal entries.
• Ensure all deadlines and schedules are met on time and in accordance with management expectations.
• Spearhead the preparation of monthly financial statements for our Europe-based business.
• Confirm and abide by all internal procedures, policies, and any regulatory guidance.
• Investigate operational and financial results and make recommendations for improvement.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses.
• Ad-hoc reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work onsite at least three days per week in our Salt Lake City location.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office with advanced MS Excel experience.
• Proficient to advanced knowledge of SQL.
• Ability to w ork a limited amount of weekend and/or evening work when needed.
• Ability to travel a limited amount (<20%).
• Ability to utilize independent judgment in establishing the accuracy and reasonableness of information.
