School Social Worker (High School)
We are currently seeking a Full-Time School Social Worker to support one of our school partners in Englewood, CO. This Social Worker will be supporting students at an Alternative High School, with community support and collaborative leadership! This is a full time position for the 2023-2024 school year.
Position Summary:
Offer a spectrum of support services to students encountering challenges in learning, academic progress, social-emotional well-being, and behavior. Act as a mental health professional engaged in proactive initiatives and responsive measures addressing identified issues. Deliver services using a blend of problem-solving, consultative approaches, and direct service models.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create tailored interventions at individual, group, or systemic levels to address recognized concerns or issues, encompassing academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs impacting educational advancement.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and sound methodologies to inform interventions, collaborating closely with school staff and parents to shape and adapt student intervention strategies.
- Lead functional behavior assessments (FBA), devising and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) while monitoring progress of intervention plans.
- Conduct, interpret, and apply various student assessments involving record reviews, interviews, observations, and standardized assessments.
- Administer and interpret both norm-referenced and curriculum-based assessment tools.
- Engage in team-based follow-up activities to evaluate student progress, analyze data, and refine individual interventions.
- Analyze school-wide assessment data to aid school staff in devising school-wide interventions.
- Act as a liaison among district buildings, families, and the community, collaborating with diverse teams to ensure positive outcomes for all learners.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to determine eligibility, devise appropriate plans, and reassess students needing special education services/programs.
- Adhere to Exceptional Student Services and district policies and procedures, including Medicaid billing and accident reporting.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Must possess (or have pending) a current Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License with a Social Worker endorsement.
