Video and Digital Marketing Coordinator

Kent Campus - Kent, OH (MAC Center)

Basic Function:

Develops video and digital content in support of the marketing initiatives for a department, unit/college or division. Reports to designated administrator.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:  

Contribute to the unit's overall marketing strategy by developing video and digital content using emerging technologies, platforms, and techniques.

Produce and edit videos, photography, and motion graphics for storyboarding, website, social and electronic communications in a high quality manner that is consistent with the university's image and brand.

Recommend and oversee alternative digital methods for delivering programming, volunteer training and communications including the use of webcasts, live streaming web/video conferencing and other distance-based technology.

Assist in developing strategies for digital communications.

Create, develop or secure all assets related to video production, including music, voiceover, visual graphics, etc.

Research innovative digital marketing techniques, production equipment, software and services for continuous optimization and improvement of the unit's digital marketing presence.

Manage the videography data storage system, ensuring the proper archiving, organization and redundancy of all video footage, projects and related media.

Design graphical elements and prepare images for college website, print and social media.

Assist in oversight of college social media sites (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), work with content providers to create ongoing calendar for posts, and post content.

Provide support to marketing department for web development needs for implementation of marketing/recruitment campaigns; specific landing pages, QR code generation, etc.

Maintain and service all video equipment.

May assist with evaluating analytics.

May supervise student employees.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications, video/media, broadcast production, journalism, or related field.  One year of video production experience.

License/Certification:

 

Knowledge Of:

Digital marketing/related fields, tools, techniques, and technology *

Media production applications (Adobe Premiere and/or Final Cut Pro X, After Effects, Media Encoder and/or Compressor, Photoshop and/or Illustrator, Audition and Microsoft Office Storytelling), design and editorial processes *

Skill In:

Video editing, producing, directing *

Multi-media script writing *

Cinematography

Professional camera operation *

Digital sound recording

Interview set lighting

Motion graphic design *

Video compression

Interviewing subjects on camera

Written, verbal and interpersonal communication

Adhering to deadlines

Ability To:

Work effectively in a collaborative environment

Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of clients within the department and the university

Manage time and resources and effectively balance multiple priorities

Be self-directed and self-motivated

Integrate storytelling, design and editorial processes with high production value *

Occasionally work evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Newsroom experience, News/TV production -or- corporate/higher ed

Assessments:

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Moderate work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently to move objects.  Incumbent must be able to communicate with others.  Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.

Working Schedule:

Non-traditional hours
