We are currently seeking
Equipment Technicians - General Laborers with heavy equipment operating experience to join our team at our shop in
Albuquerque, NM. Our Equipment Technicians will help assemble, test, and maintain company equipment; read and understand equipment operations and maintenance manuals, and perform regular inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions, repairs, and replacements. Equipment technicians develop cost-reduction initiatives by using materials and resources effectively and maintaining inventory control of equipment, tools, and parts.

What You'll Do: - Helps train and supervise shop support / helpers
- Keeps track of RoadSafe tools and equipment
- Keeps assigned work area clean and organized and maintain inventory levels of parts and shop supplies
- Completes all equipment check sheets as required
- Works with vendors on cost improvement initiatives
- Monitor and track the repair status of inoperative equipment
- Works in compliance with established safety policies & procedures
- Prepare, submit, and maintain records of work orders and parts issued
- Stays current in all models of equipment used or operated by RoadSafe
- Inform management of any parts that are damaged, in need of replacement, or are unsafe
- Inspects and ensures that all equipment is properly repaired or serviced on an ongoing basis
- Performs mechanical repairs, service, and preventive maintenance assigned by management
- Completes work-orders accurately, efficiently, and timely while recording the work performed
- Ensures that all parts, sublet labor, oil, and any other miscellaneous costs are included on the work-order
- Oversee RoadSafe fleet service program ensuring that vehicles are being serviced in a timely manner working closely with vendors and program administrators
- Perform other duties as assigned by Branch Management
What We Need from You: - Heavy equipment operation, skid-steer (forklift) and welding experience required
- Ability to work extended or standby hours on an on call basis
- Ability to kneel, bend, climb, carry, lift, pull, and push 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to walk and stand on concrete and work around excessive heat and cold
- Ability to display basic knowledge of DOT requirements as it relates to company fleet
- Must have basic computer skills and understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Must provide your own basic hand tools
- Experience with calibration and disassembly
- Must have a valid drivers license with a good driving record
