This position will work in our Development team and report to the Sr. Director of Development of our western region.

Our Development team is looking for a talented Associate Developer to help support the efforts of our fast-growing company. Adapture Renewables is owned by KIRKBI – the private holding and investment company of the Kirk Kristiansen family founded to build a sustainable future for the LEGO® brand through generations.
Overview
This position will work in our Development team and report to the Sr. Director of Development of our western region. This is a commercially focused, multi-disciplinary role with responsibility for multiple projects at various stages of development. The team’s near-term focus involves expanding our utility-scale, solar PV and solar + storage project portfolio via greenfield development and acquisitions throughout the WECC. This is a hybrid role, and it is preferred that the candidate be in the Bay Area.
Core Responsibilities
- Support the development of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects in WECC.
- Assist with site selection, site control, environmental studies, interconnection process, offtake, finance and property tax abatement process.
- Lead project coordination with internal teams and external consultants, including project finance, engineering, construction, interconnection and legal teams.
- Demonstrate understanding of commercial and regulatory activities of WECC.
- Engage with contractors, vendors, and consultants to maintain project timeline and budget.
- Assist in the securing of permits and ensure compliance and due diligence throughout the development, construction, and operation of projects.
- Communicate project attributes and key risks to the management team in support of investment decision making.
- Maintain project budgets and schedules.
- Engage in community, local, state, and federal outreach as needed, at all stages of development.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 2 years of proven success in the acquisition and/or greenfield development of utility-scale renewable energy projects
- Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Solid understanding of project economic drivers and risks
- Well organized and capable of coordinating multiple projects through all development stages.
- Ability to follow and maintain project budgets and schedules.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Proven collaborative, task flexible, and goal-oriented team contributor
- Ability to travel 15-20% of the time.
