Job Overview:
Sanford Federal is in the process of recruiting an Otolaryngologist. The objective of this
acquisition is to provide Board certified Otolaryngology physician who can perform
clinical Otolaryngology services, including, but not limited to: Clinic and Surgical Care ,Operative
Services, Intraoperative Follow-up ,Consultative services, Medications and Discharge education.
Job Details :
• Job Title: Otolaryngologist
• Location: The VAMC 2501 W 22nd St, Sioux Falls, SD 57105
• Schedule: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm: Tuesdays and Fridays for clinics, emergent services, and
after-hours consultations.
-Tuesday and Friday Mornings will be used for surgery and afternoons for clinic.
-Emergent service is for emergent medical conditions: approximately 10 hours annually.
-After-hour phone consults: approximately 80 hours annually.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries in the clinic or operating room at the
scheduled start time.
• Typical surgical procedures include, but are not limited to: Sinus Surgery , Head/Neck cancer
removal, Panendoscopy , Tonsillectomy, Septoplasty, Rhinoplasty, and Laryngoscopy.
• Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in the
clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.
• Follow all established medication policies and procedures.
• Provide discharge educationand follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care
setting for all Otolaryngology clinical or surgical patients.
Qualifications:
• License to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the
District of Columbia). All licenses shall full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but
who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily
surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered.
• Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and be currently certified in Basic
Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.
• Verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational
history.
• Provide copies of current CMEs.
• Completed the following courses.
Requirements:
• Provide proof of the following tests:
- TUBERCULOSIS TESTING :Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) or
interferon-gamma release assays (IGRA) A negative chest
radiographic report for active tuberculosis shall be provided in
cases of positive TST or IGRA results.
- MEASLES, MUMPS, & RUBELLA TESTIN.
-VARICELL.
-ACELLULAR PERTUSSIS:1 dose of Tdap vaccination
-INFLUENZA: In case of a medical contraindication to the
vaccine, wearing a mask is required during the Influenza season.
-Hepatitis B vaccination series and hepatitis B surface antigen test
results following the hepatitis B vaccination series.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• DEA certificate.
