Position Summary/Description:

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, is seeking exceptional candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. 

The successful candidate will be a creative scientist who will develop a research program focused on translational or basic molecular mechanisms of disease. Current research strengths of the department include cancer biology, cardiovascular disease, and thrombosis/coagulation. However, applicants with any research program focused on disease mechanisms will be considered. Ideally, faculty candidates will also integrate with developing department research and scholarly programs in women's health. 

The department has a PhD graduate student training program and pathology residency and fellowship programs. An attractive start-up package, including independent laboratory space for candidates with wet bench experimental research programs, will be offered. Applicants should have a strong record of recent accomplishments as a post-doctoral fellow or as an early faculty member. There are opportunities for teaching in the School of Medicine and the Graduate School.

Education and Experience:

Candidates with expertise and research interests in liver pathology or computational approaches to investigating molecular mechanisms of disease will be prioritized.
