Job description
Position Overview: The Safety Manager is a key position that is responsible for the overall safety and compliance of the organization. The Safety Manager will collaborate with the staff, management, and contractors to ensure that safe practices are in place and followed. The Safety Manager will also provide training and guidance for all employees on safety and health topics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Bilingual Spanish is a must**
- Develop and implement safety policies, standards and programs for the organization.
- Conduct safety training and drills for employees.
- Develop safety and health plans for employees.
- Conduct safety investigations and document findings.
- Develop safety and health communication programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Prepare and submit periodic safety reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in safety, health or related field required.
- OSHA 5109, Fall Protection, Spanish, Communication, Interpersonal Skills, Microsoft Office, Forklift, Construction Safety Manager, Electrical Construction, Safety Management, PIT Trainer, CPR First Aid Trainer, OSHA 510, CHST Certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in safety management and safety compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards and hazard communication.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
