Who you are:

The finishing technician will be responsible for finishing all types of fixed orthodontic appliances according to doctor's prescriptions. This role is 100% hands on and requires a dedication to excellence and craftsmanship. As you gain tenure you are required to learn about basic oral structure, tooth anatomy, tooth numbering systems and basic orthodontic appliances, with many minor variations, and their functions. This position is from 8 am to 4:30 pm with overtime hours, as needed, in times of increased workload. These hours are extremely important as this position feeds work to several additional departments.

Our client NEOlab, or New England Orthodontic Laboratory, is a family-owned and family-run orthodontics manufacturer serving the Boston area. They are located in Andover, MA and are home to more than 120 employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Electro-polish fixed appliances
• Pumice and Polish removeable appliances
• Work with electro-polishing machine, stream machine, handheld and bench grinding machine
• Follow detailed directions
• Problem solve as needed
• Learn when to ask for assistance and when to independently make decisions
• Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Keep records of production quantities and time
• Work in a stationary position for several hours at a time
• Work in a standing position for several hours at a time
• Use hands and fingers to manipulate materials for several hours at a time
• Exhibit great hand-eye coordination

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Standing and sitting. Must be able to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position self to constantly operate high velocity machines that involve electro-polisher, steam, grinding, buffing, polishing and vibration.
