Staff Auditor
Provide value-added assurance and risk advisory services to support the safety and soundness of the credit union’s assets. This role is project-driven and requires flexibility, and a dedication to professional growth.
What you'll be doing:
- Duties will include audit, monitoring, reporting, investigation, and other ad-hoc activities. All duties will be completed in a manner that adheres to the Internal Audit Charter.
- Participate in executing the Retail Audit Program by conducting fieldwork and drafting reports as instructed by the Audit Supervisor and the Chief Audit Executive (CAE).
- Participate in executing the Monitoring Program. Complete ongoing reviews to provide assurance that transactions are consistent with acceptable credit union practices.
- Participate in executing the Loan Audit and Quality Control Program. Perform reviews in a manner which provides assurance regarding compliance with policies and consistency with best practices.
- Perform other risk-based assurance services, as instructed by the Audit Supervisor and CAE.
- Assist the Audit Supervisor and CAE in providing facilitation services to external auditors and examiners, as necessary.
- Assist the Audit Supervisor and CAE with tracking and reporting on issues or recommendations from external auditors and examiners.
- Assist the Compliance Department with BSA-related activities, including suspicious activity reviews and drafting related regulatory reports.
- Perform special projects and tasks as assigned by the leaders of Internal Audit, Compliance, and Risk Management.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (or significant progress towards a degree)
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively work with credit union teams, senior management, and the board of directors.
- Flexibility in reacting to changes and managing multiple assignments.
- Must be detail oriented and operate with a high level of accuracy.
- Basic understanding of regulations which govern credit unions, and the desire to pursue an intermediate level of compliance knowledge.
