Mechanical Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading manufacturer of thermal separation process solutions based in Stoughton, MA, who are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.
Salary: $100,000 – $140,000

Responsibilities:
- The Experienced Mechanical Engineer is a technical role participating in a variety of engineering activities withing the engineering group, including design, validation & test, research, product development, and new business development.
- This role is primarily design focused but also works closely with operations, purchasing, manufacturing and other technical functions.
- The right candidate will be innately curious, technically minded, practical, and is eager to creatively solve problems.
- This role is responsible for design, analysis, test, and documentation of equipment projects, including technical oversight of staff, advising cross functional teams, peer review of technical packages, and other duties as assigned.
- Day to-day activities in this role include but are not limited to design calculations, creating and analysing 3d models, numerical simulation (FEA and CFD), writing and reviewing technical documentation, cost and schedule analyses, review of code and regulatory requirements, manufacturing and operational support.
About You:
- This role is full-time, on-site, though incidental/occasional remote work is permitted.
- This role requires the applicant be approved to work in the United States.
- Must be able to fluently read, write, comprehend, and speak English both conversationally and technically.
- Individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills, i.e., must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Must work well in a cross-functional team environment while still achieving individual results.
- Must possess strong foundations in engineering fundamentals, i.e., breadth and depth, in the areas of heat transfer, fluid dynamics/fluid flow, statics, machine design, dynamics, and numerical/statistical methods.
- Technical degree(s) from an accredited engineering program in either mechanical, structural, chemical, manufacturing, or materials engineering disciplines.
- Bachelor of Engineering with at least 5 years of post-graduate professional experience
- Master of Engineering or higher with at least 3 years of post-graduate professional experience (non-academic).
- Must have demonstrated practical experience in the application of engineering fundamentals – going beyond commercial software or simplified analyses to solve technical problems.
- Candidates with graduate degrees will ideally be able to demonstrate both analytical and experimental capabilities through academic projects or a thesis.
- All candidates should be able to demonstrate through professional accomplishments their technical problem-solving capabilities and technical competency.
- Must be proficient creating solid models and technical drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other similar CAD software. Must have a basic understanding of GD&T principles.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer in one of the 50 United States or willing to earn a P.E. License within 2 years of hire.
- Experience using numerical analysis, i.e. finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, or other similar methods to design, validate, or optimize a system, structure, or behavior.
- Familiarity or experience with any of the ASME Piping or Pressure Vessel Codes
- Familiarity or experience working in a highly regulated industry
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including operational systems, change management, and quality control/assurance
- Familiarity with project and risk management in a professional setting
