What You'll Do in This Position

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of instructional support functions including analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of training. Using effective training methods provides trainees with the knowledge and skills required to perform their jobs safely and competently. Provides assistance to training staff members in
performing training activities and by reviewing/evaluating training materials prior to approval. May act in a lead capacity for a limited subject area, or administration of a training program, and be held accountable for training results in that area. Significant involvement with identification of training needs. May act as a Subcontract Technical Representative, coordinating all efforts of subcontracted personnel, including budgeting, man hour accounting, and overseeing work accomplishment. May have input in the budgeting process for a particular training program.

Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules. and make safety an integral part of
each task. Take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition.

Design, develop, review, revise and deliver training for personnel to obtain and maintain qualifications and certifications.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential

Required Experience:

Qualifications We Desire

Experience in nuclear facility operations or radiation protection/radiological worker are strongly preferred.
A college degree with relevant experience in education or in the field being instructed (Hazardous Energy Control, Respiratory Protection, CPR, HAZWOPER, Confined Space, Radiological Worker, etc.).
Expertise in the content of assigned sufficient to evaluate the relative importance of concepts, generalizations of concepts, and application to various jobs in order to pinpoint causes of deficiencies in performance.
Qualification as an Instructor in accordance with the 4B Manual. Instructors are expected to remain current in their fields of expertise and are strongly encouraged to continually enhance their technical knowledge and skills.
Familiarity with applicable Federal Laws, DOE orders, Company policies and procedures is also required.
Basic Instructor and Curriculum Development
Experience with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
