Outbound Logistics Analyst

Job description

The Outbound Logistics Analyst will be responsible for maintaining, facilitating, and assisting with all Outbound Linehaul operations within the Distribution Centers (DC). They will work closely with the internal shipping team, DC leadership, and our linehaul carriers to ensure a smooth daily operation. This position will partner with the other members of the outbound team, including the senior manager, to provide insight into any issues within the DC and facilitate daily solutions. They will also be tasked with providing daily reporting to the outbound team and internal DC partners to ensure consistency of information.

A Day in the Life:

• Maintains proper empty trailer pools in all DC locations
• Facilitates necessary communication with linehaul carriers to ensure outbound loads are picked up in a timely manner
• Provides any necessary documentation to the outbound team and the linehaul carriers to facilitate pick-up of trailers
• Creates daily reporting to guide internal DC shipping partners on available equipment
• Reports all potential issues that would hinder daily operation to outbound team and works to provide a solution
• Utilizes internal YMS (Yard Management System) to check status/create reporting
• Assists with creation of plan to manage delays in transit, providing daily insight to ensure best course of action
• Responsible for training/assisting DC personnel on best practices for handling outbound linehaul shipments and issues
• Assists manager with any alternate projects and priorities for outbound team and senior manager

You'll Come With:

• Bachelor’s degree in a Supply Chain/Business related field and/or 3-5 years of Logistics/Transportation related field
• Experience establishing key performance indicator metrics to benchmark/track performance
• Experience in Excel/Reporting preferred
