Job description

We are currently looking for a talented Database Manager to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in centralizing and modernizing our Department's Health Management System (HMS). This is a full-time, remote position, offered on a contract basis and renewable annually.

Responsibilities:

System Enhancement and Bug Fixes:
Create system designs and documentation for feature enhancements, additions, and bug fixes on a daily basis as per assigned work tickets.

Application Code Development:
Modify and develop application code and database code for User Acceptance Testing, aligned with the specifications in work tickets.

Troubleshooting:
Identify, troubleshoot, and document resolutions to system issues reported by the HMS Support group and Applications Management team.

Communication and Updates:
Provide work estimates, regular communication, and updates for Release Planning, Sprint Planning, and Daily Scrum as outlined in work tickets.

Documentation:
Document all application modifications and additions in a centralized documentation repository on a daily basis.

Training:
Complete required job training as assigned by the Department, with verification through certificates, sign-in sheets, and the Department's Learning Management System.

Requirements:

Technical Expertise:
7 years of documented experience in InterSystems IRIS/Caché Object Script Development.
Thorough understanding of the Cache database system.
7 years of experience in designing and implementing IRIS/Cache databases, including data modeling and SQL.

Programming Skills:
7 years of documented experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
5 years of documented experience in SQL queries, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, Ajax, Bootstrap, and XML.
Expertise in object-oriented programming and experience in building Web services.

Knowledge:
Working knowledge of SOAP, SSL certificates, Java key stores, and encryption.
Familiarity with data transfer protocols such as TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP, PGP.

Compliance:
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance regulations, including HIPAA, relevant to data management and privacy.

Physical Demands:

Ability to safely perform essential job functions in line with ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.
Sedentary work involving occasional movement around the office.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
