Job Description:
Design, develop, and oversee ongoing, sustainable service and leadership programming to enhance the UF student experience and preparedness post-graduation
- Responsible for creating service, leadership and community engagement initiatives and programs designed for individual or group participation that fosters learning, encourages growth, action and sustained participation
- Manage ongoing service opportunities and leadership programs available for members of the UF Community
- Facilitate collaborative partnerships with service organizations in local, state, national and global communities for the purpose of student development and institutional engagement
- Recruit participants, coordinate registration, and document and maintain records of programs and events
- Liaise with faculty and academic units to establish relationships, partnerships, and programming that enhance the programs and services provided by the Brown Center for Leadership and Service
- Plan and manage the regular operation including establishing work priorities and workflow; develop goals relevant to the program and provide direction for goal accomplishment.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with department and University policies, guidelines, and other relevant regulations including but not limited to use of facilities, ADA compliance, security requirements, and special event approval requirements.
- Assist with the development, appropriate dissemination and enforcement of specific policies, procedures, and guidelines for program participation, facility and equipment use.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and management student facilitators as needed
- Provide on site management of events as needed Provide outreach and marketing efforts to students and various stakeholder groups to expand leadership and service offerings and engagement. Collaborate with campus, alumni, organizations, and community partners to advance efforts and recognize best practices in experiential learning. Provide presentations, outreach, consultations, etc.
- Aid in the development of marketing materials and storytelling strategies to show impact and encourage co-curricular involvement of students during their time at UF
- Manage recognition, educational modules, and community engagement programs for service, leadership, etc.
- Advise student groups and committees associated with the departed as required
- Assist with implementation, participant management, and education associated with outside grant opportunities for students, experiential learning, etc. (e.g. Projects for Peace)
- Provide on-site support and management of programs related to service and leadership as needed
- Provide help as needed with oversight for planning and implementation of academic course related to service-learning, integration of service learning into event and trip planning, safety and risk management, and related topics Provides logistics, programming and administrative functions for general and signature experiences provided by the Brown Center for Leadership and Service
- Assist with assigned portion of area budget and track expenditures related to assigned responsibilities
- Support in the development and implementation of program assessments, tracking and reporting
- Collaborate on risk mitigation strategies and practices and serve as emergency/crisis/incident responder as necessary
- Showcase the learning, action and impact of students and the initiatives of the Brown Center of Leadership and Service
- Assist with the development, implementation, and guiding goals and strategic planning for programs and initiatives offered by the department
- Assist as needed on logistics and production of signature programs and services in the department
- Develop and provide leadership and service outreach and presentations to various student and campus partner audiences Develop reports, handle special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Provides positive contributes as a divisional and university citizen through active participation on committees and division-wide initiatives (example opportunities: emergency dean on call, event support team, conduct committee, student welcome events, etc.) Expected Salary:
50,000 Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Preferred Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of theoretical foundation in the principles and practices of community service work
- Experience in developing and providing training, seminars, and workshops in community service, volunteer coordination, leadership and experiential learning
- Demonstrated experience in event planning/program and implementation
- Knowledge of developing outcomes and assessment
- Experience in advising and/or consulting with diverse populations SKILLS
- Demonstrated knowledge of budget development and oversight
- Demonstrated communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers and basic software applications
