Calling all event planning, hospitality, and public relations professionals looking to learn and grow in your career with a community-driven, impact-oriented, non-profit media organization. This internship will take you to the next level in your event planning, organization, and public relations skillset. Work collaboratively across RMPM brands (RMPBS KIDS, KUVO Jazz, THE DROP 104.7, RMPBS) and support planning, execution, and debriefing for goal-oriented and curated experiences, both in-person and virtually. The job will be flexible 20 hours a week, and many events and experiences we produce are in the evening or on a weekend.

This internship position will start with a small cohort of fellow interns on June 3, 2024. Selected candidates may expect to work anywhere from 10-12 weeks, depending on their class schedule. This internship opportunity offers 15-20 hours of work per week and will require travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend weekly Experience meetings and bi-monthly All Staff Townhalls and CEA Department meetings
• Represents KUVO Jazz (89.3), THE DROP (104.7), RMPBS KIDS, and Rocky Mountain PBS with values-aligned behavior at all times
• Actively engaged in supporting Experience Producers within Community, Equity, Access (CEA) Department
• Supports research, planning, organizing, delivery, execution, and debrief of in-person and virtual experiences/events across all RMPM brands
• Research communities outside of their own to gain greater understanding of multiple perspectives
• Completes weekly check-in (via email) summarizing tasks completed/wins, challenges, and next steps/action items
• Actively engages in a weekly one-on-one meeting with your manager, reviewing last week's check-in and next-steps
• Deliver a written final report, summarizing learnings and opportunities from the internship experience by September 1, 2024.
• Actively participates in RMPM's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training program
• Other tasks as assigned and/or required

Minimum Qualifications of Position

• High school degree or equivalent
• Must be currently enrolled in, or have recently completed, a program at an accredited college, university, or technical school
• A mix of demonstrated skills, abilities and knowledge will be considered in place of education requirements
• Strong understanding of Microsoft office suite, Zoom, SharePoint
• Job requires working some evening and weekends, not to exceed and average of 20 hours per week

• The ideal candidate will have completed one-year of higher education
• Must be able to work both independently and as a collaborative and productive team member
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally and productively with persons at all levels
• Must possess exceptional time management, decision making and organizational skills
• Must be detail-oriented with an ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Must have a demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work within established budgets

Work Environment

This position works primarily in office, studio, editing, and/or field environments. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule with occasionally long hours including some evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel throughout the state and beyond, on occasion.
