The Institutional Finance Director provides leadership and management of the departments Institutional Finance Division. The Division is statutorily responsible for the approval and oversight if over $1 billion of state funding for public higher education institutions in New Mexico.

The Institutional Finance Manager (IFM) provides leadership and management for the financial oversight of over $1 billion of state funding for public higher education institutions in New Mexico. The IFM advises the Higher Education Secretary and top staff on issues concerning institutional finance, capital projects, and financial aid at individual institutions and throughout the system as a whole. The IFM is responsible for the review of all institutional budgets; for the administration of the higher education funding formula; overseeing the review and approval process for higher education capital projects, research and public service projects, and financial aid award distribution.
The Institutional Finance Director is responsible for the oversight and management of the following programs at the department:
Higher Education Department leadership and students enrolled in New Mexico Higher Education Institutions.
A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a light strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
