Ergon Marine & Industrial Supply, Inc., has an opening for a Crew Boat Pilot at its Memphis location for its Big Valley vessel.

The Big Valley Pilot delivers supplies to customer vessels and operates the M/V Big Valley in a safe and efficient manner.
Big Valley Pilot Responsibilities include the following:
Ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel while on watch.
Responsible for safe loading of supplies by the forklifts, assuring stability of the vessel and placement of pallets.
Big Valley pilots are to load parts and grocery orders when needed.
Ensure all customer supplies are loaded before leaving the dock.
Monitor white board in dispatch each shift for incoming vessel needs.
Balance cash drawer at the beginning and the end of each shift completing the Big Valley Checkup Sheet. Big Valley Pilots are responsible for any missing funds at the end of each shift.
Complete and return paperwork to appropriate department upon arrival at dock.
Complete an EMIS Multi-Purpose Tracking Form for items put off by customer vessels, delivering these items to the appropriate department up return to EMIS.
Communicate with both the customer vessels and dispatch to ensure all needs, comments, complaints are handled efficiently.
Perform general vessel maintenance and cleaning.
When a Big Valley Pilot is assigned the task of training an upcoming pilot, the current pilot is considered the "Master of the Vessel" and is responsible for and will be held accountable for all actions of the trainee in the performance of their duties.
Big Valley Pilot Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Must have a minimum of a U.S. Coast Guard 100-Ton Masters License
Valid TWIC Card (Transportation Workers Identification Card)
Valid Driver's License
Must have good communication skills, work well with others and have good customer service skills
Must be able to swim
