Job description

WIRE HARNESS TECHNICIAN

SHIFT - MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 8AM - 4:30PM

PAY RATE $25 to $30 BASED ON YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Description:

• Build, troubleshoot and test custom cable assemblies from engineer drawings, hand sketches and verbal instruction

• Ability to gather materials and tooling necessary to perform work in an organized manner

• Routes, wires, and assembles electronic components using wire layout boards

• Using multimeter and other electrical tools for basic continuity and electrical checks

• Operate semi-automatic equipment such as crimp presses, wire twisters and wire strippers

• Responsible for the preparation of wire/cable and components for overmolding and of the overmolding process

• Use of a solder iron to solder wires to switches or connectors

• Work closely with engineers to improve upon prototype designs, mark up drawings, and create assembly notes

• Performs soldering, building of wire and cable assemblies and other assembly operations

• Assists in daily cycle counting of material

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with hands-on electrical build and cable assembly

• Crimping, soldering, and general cabling experience.

• Troubleshooting and testing experience to qualify R&D or production builds.

• Demonstrate that you work to a high degree of quality and good speed.

• Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering assembly drawings, and bills of materials.

• Good communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to both work independently and also in teams.
