Visit our website to learn more about our programs, job opportunities, and view a video about what it's like to be a part of the Elwyn team: Elwyn Adult Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support our mental health residential facilities in the Georgetown, Delaware area. $58,240 / year, comprehensive benefits, $5000 sign on bonus 1st shift (8 am - 4 pm), Monday - Friday. The LPN assumes responsibility for nursing care of young adult through geriatric consumers with chronic mental illness; provides generalized and specialized care; maintains appropriate records; functions as a member of interdisciplinary team and performs related work as required. Assists consumers in the management of chronic conditions such as mental illness, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, hypertension, etc. Works directly in medical treatment relationship with consumers, individually or in groups, in consultation with the Psychiatrist and other physicians as indicated. Observes consumers and reports reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge. Integrates the Prism Model for effective treatment of serious and persistent mental illness, into everyday practice and clinical intervention. Administers medication and takes vital signs as indicated and documents in consumer charts. Reviews consumer records to ensure that medical goals are being addressed and to note recommendations for change and new clinical approaches, as indicated. Qualifications Graduate of accredited LPN program. Current state license with no stipulations. One year of professional experience as Licensed Practical Nurse in mental health facility highly desired. Medical/surgical experience is preferred. Knowledge of theory and principles of psychiatric nursing. Knowledge of psychopharmacology, including administration of medication, observation of effects of medication, reporting and recording. CPR certification.
