Job Summary: The Mobile Mechanic will perform mechanical repairs and inspections on the road or on job sites and maintain services for the companys fleet of vehicles and equipment to ensure proper performance and safety. This position reports to the Fleet Manager in West Virginia and will be located in
Columbus, OH. Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to): - Use of diagnostic equipment to evaluate and determine the best solution to mechanic problems with vehicles and equipment.
- Perform mechanical repairs to fleet vehicles and equipment for road maintenance calls.
- Inspect and service vehicles and equipment under a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Inspect equipment and vehicles and evaluate condition of systems, equipment, and accessories and service as needed.
- Maintain and operate shop tools and equipment in a safe operating condition.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment, as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work as a member or a team.
- Ability to communicate with employees, managers, vendors, and the Fleet Manager regarding work.
- Must possess a valid drivers license and have an approved driving record.
- Ability to work hours outside the basic 7am 4pm schedule, and travel as needed (possibly over 8 hours/day, and over 40 hours/week, on weekends, evenings, etc., as needed.
Technical - Working knowledge and application of practices, standards, procedures, and tools used in the automotive and truck maintenance industry to repair vehicles and equipment, as needed.
- Ability and experience diagnosing mechanical problems with vehicles and equipment.
- Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions involved in the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and related equipment.
- Knowledge of gasoline and diesel equipment and vehicle repairs.
- Must have own tools.
- Ability to be exposed to dampness, humidity, chemicals, fumes, gasoline and diesel fuel and oils.
- Ability to work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and equipment, and in inclement weather conditions.
