Job description
We're looking for a highly experienced, versatile, and hardworking Accounting Professional (manager, senior manager, controller) to work collaboratively within our finance team. This role will involve traditional accounting functions consisting of a subset of the following tasks:
•Lead/assist in overall monthly / annual close of our books, including consolidation.•Preparation/posting of journal entries.•Completion of various monthly reconciliations and resolve reconciling items•Partner in managing all aspects of Accounts ReceivableoSetup of new customers, evaluation for credit, preparing invoices/credit memos, review and monitoring of customer accounts, customer support•Invoice wallet key customers and POSAs, review key setup for proper attributes, and team with owners of wallet key program to maintain/improve program offering and reconcile related accounts
•Post cash/reconcile daily (worldwide)•Address informational reporting requests•Contribute to financial reconciliation and resolution of reconciling items related to merchant processor activity (from back-office testing phase and recon tool design for new methods/processors/processing changes through to completion of reconciliation and posting of all necessary journal entries)•Assist with outbound royalty payments, partner support for onboarding, payment / tax issues, etc.•Address ad hoc needs as they arise•Continue to streamline processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness•Assist in department planning, as needed / tasks evolve•Cross-train with other team membersValve is an entertainment and technology company driven to design and deliver extraordinary entertainment experiences to customers. Requirements
•Degree in Accounting•Public accounting experience preferred•CPA preferred•7+ years of experience in accounting/finance functions•Intermediate skills in Excel, accounting software and online banking systems•High level of attention to detail and accuracy•Ability to identify issues, research and escalate when necessary•Ability to see “forest” in addition to the “trees”•Flexibility, passion and drive in making functions/processes better•Curiosity and willingness to take on new tasks/projects•Self-starter, ability to work independently (ability to manage own time and tasks without oversight) and be collaborative in working with others (focus on succeeding as a team / company, not an individual)•Strong communication and problem solving skillsSalary range$150K - $200K, depending on experience
