Mechanical Engineer

Overview
This client produces fuel additives and lubricants for automotive, aerospace, and home heating.
In this role you’ll support process design engineering with specification and costing of equipment required for plant capital improvement projects. You’ll have strong experience with pressure vessel specifications in accordance to ASME Section VIII, API 570, 650, 653 codes.
Responsibilities:
Perform preliminary engineering for process design engineers to support capital project scoping.
Perform cost estimations for project engineers to support capital project approval process.
Perform detailed design calculations and sizing as required for all capital project mechanical scope items.
Drawing review and approval for all fabricated equipment to ensure design meets all applicable industry and internal standards and code requirements.
Provide field oversight and technical support for contractors during construction and startup activities.
Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete before uploading to various systems for documentation control.
Support on-site mechanical integrity group by reviewing, modifying, and approving all repair plans for fixed equipment and piping.
Provide technical support for a chemical manufacturing plant on an as needed basis.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, required
Strong knowledge of pressure vessel specification/design
Strong knowledge of applying ASME Section VIII required
API 570, 650, 653 preferred
Interpersonal skills to work with Process Design, installation team, and as well as other project contributors.
