The Opportunity

Our On- Air Platform offers a lot of diversity in the retail sector and truly no other buying team connects directly with their customer for storytelling like we do. The Sr. Buyer of Electronics buys saleable product by discovering, encouraging, and cultivating new ideas while keeping the customer at the heart of everything that they do. Responsibilities include assembling seasonally appropriate merchandise assortments and developing important promotional goals for PC, TV, Video, Floorcare, Gaming and Tablets. You will build business by accomplishing strategies and collaborating with our teams to maximize sales. Translate strategies into compelling and achievable goals.

• Electronics is comprised of National Brands and unique HSN developed brands
• Brand volume can range from new and nurture brands starting at $500k in volume all the way to $100M+ with brands at several stages in their lifecycle.

Your Impact

• Build buying office strategies and manage the daily office functions.
• Develop and deliver multi-platform short and mid-range business plans that exceed the financial goals.
• Develop multi-platform plans to deliver sales, productivity, adjusted gross margin, TS achievement rates and inventory plans. Identify areas of growth while managing areas of risk.
• Create the vision for Buying area.
• Deliver the buying strategy for the team, not only for direct team, but also for cross functional teams.
• Seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions and align others with the buying strategy.
• Drive innovation through the power of strategic thinking, thought leadership and relationship building. Develop an entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas to deliver results. Accelerate product discovery. Lean into emerging categories and product adjacencies.

What You Bring

• Passion for Electronics, Electronics industry, and identifying white space.
• Years of Leadership, managing and empowering teams.
• 8 years' experience in a Retail Buying role, or equivalent with 3 years as a buyer.
• Comfortable coming into the office 1 day per week.
• Builder of relationships/networks throughout the organization.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Interface well with cross-functional teammates at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to provide thoughts and opinions confidently to senior management
