The Role:
The General Manager plays a pivotal role in driving business, operational, and logistical performance in a fast-paced startup environment. This role requires a hands-on leadership style with the ability to actively engage and build/lead a diverse team. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment where creative problem-solving, agility, adaptability and a high level of “grit” are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and take a hands-on approach, when needed, whether it's packing crates or brainstorming business strategy.
- Drive operational excellence through agile decision-making, creative problem-solving, and prioritization.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with our startup culture, emphasizing adaptability and rapid growth.
- Manage and develop a diverse team, including hourly workers and creative professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with the Co-Founders and other leaders to set and achieve ambitious goals, balancing strategic vision with practical execution.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, from warehouse logistics to creative project management, anticipating and addressing challenges proactively.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, developing practical strategies to exceed expectations and resolve customer issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in operations, with a track record of success in fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, hands-on approach to challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.
