Job description

Position: Technical Manager, Multimedia and Conferencing

Location: Skokie - Arlington Heights Warrenville, IL

Hybrid Role: some days will allow WFH but will be fluid per business needs

Required Travel: Regional travel to other corporate sites as necessary

Overview:

Coordinate, execute, and support the multimedia, audiovisual and collaboration requirements of executive, educational, and routine meetings in a fast-paced customer service focused corporate environment. Meetings include those in conference rooms and remote as well as Town Hall and All Employee meetings. Work spans across corporate sites and hospitals.

What you will do:

Actively align with business and IT partners to prioritize needs and maximize system functionality to contribute to organizational strategy and governing compliance standards.

Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising performance with a strong focus on development and succession planning.

Implement new technologies and enhancements in alignment with defined company strategies and with strict adherence to defined project management procedures. Oversee multiple, concurrent projects which can be large and/or complex.

Contribute to creating the annual department budget and ensure cost effectiveness of all assigned activities.

Setup, testing, operation of audiovisual and videoconference equipment; (e.g., video data projection systems, computers, audio- and videoconference equipment, video switchers, microphones, video cameras, audio systems, and operation of integrated AV systems). Provide best effort assistance to fulfill any multimedia technical needs as assigned.

Provide and have troubleshooting knowledge of Networking, IP addresses, PC, laptop, email, wireless internet access and Power Point setup support.

Execute all aspects of videoconferences including call set up, end user training, troubleshooting, and follow through on escalation of issues.

Provide consultation and education to all levels of end users on presentation technology equipment.

Responsible for troubleshoot AV and videoconferencing related technology (various projectors, control systems, audio- and videoconferencing).

Responsible for the team to perform regular preventive maintenance checks (e.g., either report or address troubles such as cable management issues, safety standards noncompliance, etc.).

Maintain conference room integrity and escalate housekeeping and technical issues outside of AV and conferencing technology and applications to appropriate department.

Maintain understanding of current and new technology.

Attend Client and Team meeting as required.

Assist in preparing, developing, and conducting training to drive adoption of conferencing tools such as GoToMeeting, Teams and WebEx conferencing platforms.

Partner with internal teams and vendors to deliver events, and to evaluate platform quality and performance

Partnering, Managing and working with any cloud technologies as well working with 3rd party production companies

Maintain productive relationships with peers, management, and key stakeholders across the business.

Apply IT and business knowledge and experience to formulate business requirements to solve for business problems

Work independently to develop approaches to address business problems and mentor Multimedia team on processes and workflows

Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years supporting large scale enterprise environments required, including support of critical all-company web conferences

Experience configuring and managing enterprise productivity & collaboration platforms including Vidyo, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeeting & WebEx Meetings

Experience with conference room technology and video equipment

Ability to define SLA s team performance and measure with end users

Experience managing updates through change management process

Demonstrate knowledge of applicable industry standards, hardware and software controls, and emerging security issues

Ability to identify and recommend changes to improve efficiency and lower costs

Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment to support corporate systems and projects

Solid verbal and written communication skills

Problem solving, leadership skills, relationship building, ability to influence

Ability to deliver updates on highly technical subjects to management team

Management experience and assignment of technical work to others optional
