The Role you will play:
You will become one of Three full-time employed CRNAs sharing a three week rotation
- Week One: Scheduled as primary CRNA and On Call
- Week Two: Scheduled secondary CRNA
- Week Three: Scheduled off …meaning 17 Unscheduled Weeks per Year!
Responsibilities include:
- The CRNA is responsible and accountable to provide safe, efficient, and effective delivery and management of anesthesia services for the surgical and obstetrical patients.
- The CRNA is also a resource person for neo-natal and adult resuscitation (codes), epidural analgesia for labor and delivery, post-operative pain management, acute or chronic pain management, and intravenous (peripheral or PICC line) catheter placement, as appropriate throughout the hospital.
- The CRNA is an Advanced Practice RN who works in collaboration with the physician, and independently to provide anesthesia services.
- Integrates education, research, management, leadership and consultation into clinical roles, and function in collegial relationships with nursing peers and other professionals and individuals who influence the health environment.
Background:
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Iowa Board of Nursing
- Master’s degree in Health Related Field
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Iowa Board of Nursing
- ACLS – PALS – BLS
- 1+ years of experience as CRNA
- 1+ years of experience in acute care setting
- Must be proficient in blocks used in Orthopedics
