BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Have demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, students and parents.
2. Possess general knowledge of the practices, methods and techniques used in the classroom, particularly in the area of teaching literacy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

BASIC FUNCTION/NATURE OF WORK:

To provide supplemental tutoring, under the direction of the school's reading specialist, to students identified as needing additional support in foundational literacy skills.

DIMENSIONS:

An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work at the school.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES/ILLUSTRATIVE EX OF WORK:

1. Plans, with support, and delivers small group instruction to students.
2. Uses appropriate curriculum and intervention resources that support remediation efforts.
3. Attends training sessions as appropriate.
4. Documents intervention efforts.
5. Communicates student progress to classroom teachers, staff, administration and parents as appropriate.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

SALARY:
Effective January 1, 2024

Less than High School - $15.37

High School/GED - $17.95

48+ college credits from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education - $19.84

Temporary staff VDOE Licensed and retired PWCS teachers - $33.50

PWCS Certified teachers before/after school time (excludes TPOTA/Temp Teachers) - $46.50

FULL TIME/PART TIME: Temporary
