We're on the lookout for a personable and customer-focused Hotel Front Desk Agent to join our team and provide a warm welcome to visitors exploring the beauty of Bar Harbor.
As a Front Desk Agent at the Bar Harbor Motel, your role will be to provide that critical first impression and welcome to our guests. In many cases you are the first team member they interact with and can set the tone for the duration of their stay. If you have a natural passion for delivering exceptional service, enjoy solving problems, and are comfortable using a computer to check guests in and out this may be the role for you.

You will be working your magic on a full-time seasonal basis from Spring to Fall. Your schedule will be 40 hours a week. Weekends, nights, and holidays are a must. The starting wage is $17 per hour.

Essential Duties:
- Provides exceptional customer service.
- Monitors rates, availability and guest room blocks on a daily basis.
- Ensures balanced accounting functions, including cash banks, A/R, credit card processing and room charges.
- Maintains open and efficient communication with other departments.
- Demonstrates commitment to hotel by professional appearance, respectful communication and integrity.
- Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
- Supervise daily shift process ensuring all team members adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Train, direct the work of, resolve issues/problems and coach and counsel the front desk team members to ensure a quality operation.
- Resolve customer issues, complaints, problems in a quick, efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality service.
- Seek assistance/advice from management as needed.
Skills Required:
- Decision making using fair judgement.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Effective communication, written and verbal.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing and working at the front desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work early mornings, late nights and unpredictable hours, including weekends and holidays.
Required Education and Experience
- No specific education required.
- 2 years of hotel experience or similar office experience.
Performance Measurement:
90 Day performance review, annual performance review, attendance, productivity, feedback from others, Guest Response scores, etc.
