Job description
We are in search of an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst who will work directly with the Director of FP&A in supporting multiple strategic initiatives. The person in this role will primarily be responsible for oversite regarding the integrity of the company’s financial forecasting system, as well as being the primary FP&A designate supporting departments with assigned projects. Strong analytical/organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced international environment are keys to success in this position.
What you'll do:
- Responsible for oversite and maintenance of Planar’s FP&A forecasting system (Planful) supporting development of financial dashboards, the annual budgeting process, and monthly forecasts/reports.
- Will work closely with Director of FP&A and department heads to identify opportunities for growth, cost savings, and optimization of financial resources.
- Provide analysis for management in support of diverse corporate initiatives and investment decisions.
- Develop advanced financial models to support business planning and strategic investment decisions.
- Participate on cross-functional teams, providing financial analysis in support of decision making.
- Work with IT to upgrade/refresh reporting tools and processes.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Data mining in existing financial/operation data and related financial reporting application, enhance existing reporting tools.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in financial planning and analysis
- Research, improve and develop cross functional reporting tools and KPIs
Requirements
What you'll bring:
- MBA or Masters Degree in Finance required.
- 5-8+ years of related work experience as a financial, strategic, or planning analyst required.
- Advanced Excel and SQL proficiency required.
- Advanced working knowledge of Planful, Prophix, Hyperion, or equivalent forecasting software required.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, generate alternatives and clearly communicate salient findings to drive positive change required.
- Experience with using Lean/Six-Sigma practices preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of key financial processes.
- Demonstrated ability to be successful in a dynamic high tech, light manufacturing business environment.
- Must enjoy gathering and digging deeply into data to identify issues, solve problems and recommend solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments and work effectively under time constraints.
